TIU falls at Viterbo

LA CROSSE, Wisc. --- 

The Trinity International University volleyball team dropped their first road game of the season Tuesday night against fifth-ranked Viterbo, 14-25, 15-25, 18-25, in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Behind a .341 attack percentage and seven ace serves, The V-Hawks used extended stretches of play to build comfortable leads midway through each set. After a tightly contested opening set, the Trojans struggled to find their momentum throughout the rest of the match as Viterbo would go on to complete the 3-0 sweep over TIU. Brianna Torres notched 10 kills for the Trojans, while Sara Andric recorded eight. Jacqueline Decker tallied 20 assists, as Penina Sao notched 11 digs on defense.

The Trojans return home August 30 and 31 to host the Trojan Invite at Van Dixhorn Arena in Deerfield. TIU will face Grace College at 3:00 PM and Kentucky Christian University at 7:00 PM on Friday, before taking on Lindenwood University-Belleville Saturday at 10:00 AM.
