GREENVILLE, S.C. --- TIU senior outside hitter Brianna Torres has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association's (NCCAA) Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the national office on Monday afternoon.

Torres, a native of Chula Vista, California earns her third NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week honor of her career, after previously earning recognition back on November 15, 2021. During the last week of play, Torres posted 53 total kills and 50 digs during the pool play rounds at the NCCAA National Tournament.

Torres had a double-double in all three matches of pool play at the NCCAA DI Women's Volleyball National Championship. She was crucial to the Trojans' upset 3-2 win over No. 2 seeded Campbellsville University as she finished with 21 kills and 20 digs. Across the three matches and one pool play tiebreaker set, Torres averaged 3.79 kills and 3.57 digs per set. Totals for the tournament were 53 kills and 50 digs.

The Trojans wrapped up their season last weekend at the NCCAA National Tournament in Lookout Point, Missouri after losing in a tiebreaker match to College of the Ozarks (MO). In a season that included Coach Luke Ward's 100^th win, the Trojans finish 2021 with a record of 21-18.
