Six Trojans selected for NCCAA Scholar-Athlete honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. --- The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) released their slate of scholar-athletes for the 2022 spring sports season. Six Trojans from the baseball and softball programs received the academic honor. In order to earn this honor, athletes must be a junior or senior with a minimum 3.40 grade point average (GPA), and at least one completed term at TIU.

Lazaris, a senior from Colgate, Wisconsin picks up his second NCCAA Scholar-Athlete honor. His resume for the 2022 season also includes CCAC First Team All-Conference and NCCAA North Central All-Region First Team. He's previously been awarded CCAC All-Academic Team as well as All-Conference and All-Region in the 2021 season.

Olech, a local from Chicago, adds to his resume with his third NCCAA Scholar-Athlete. His academic success has also been recognized by the NAIA and CCAC, having been awarded NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 2020 and 2021 as well as a member of the CCAC All-Academic Team in 2020 and 2021.


Schutzenhofer, a junior from Schaumburg, Illinois, picks up his first honor from the NCCAA as a outfielder for the Trojans after transferring from Harper College.

Hintz, a junior from Almond, Wisconsin earned the first postseason honor of her career. She's just completed her first season as a Trojan after transferring from Madison College

Miller, an academic junior from Neenah, Wisconsin, is in her second year at Trinity as she picks up her first NCCAA honor.


Paaske, a junior transfer from McHenry County College, picks up her first postseason academic honor from the NCCAA with this Scholar-Athlete award.


 
The baseball program finished their season 17-31 overall and 6-24 in conference play, while the softball team finished 4-23 overall and 4-18 in the CCAC.
