Kickoff
• Homecoming Saturday is finally here, as the Trinity International Trojans celebrate 25 years since their first season, while hosting the St. Ambrose Bees in an MSFA Midwest League showdown. The Trojans will look to climb back to .500 both in the league and overall, and snap a three-game slide. Quick Hits
• Trinity International lost its third game in a row last weekend, falling to Olivet Nazarene, 36-29.
• St. Ambrose fell at home last Saturday to #11 William Penn, 31-10.
• Quarterback Stephen Anderson is 2nd in the MSFA with 257.8 passing yards per game. Wideout Cory Windle continues to be one of his favorite targets, averaging 6.0 receptions per game, good for 7th in the MSFA.
• The Trojans rank 3rd in the MSFA in passing offense this year, averaging 257.8 yards per game. On the other side of the ball, St. Ambrose is 9th in the league in pass defense, allowing 198.5 yards per game
• The Bees have the 4th-best rushing defense in the MSFA, at 86.2 yards per game. The TIU running attack currently ranks 10th in the league, allowing an average of 112.8 yards per game.
• At halftime of Saturday's game, Trinity International will honor the 1994 MSFA Midwest League Champion Trojans, as well as the 2004 Trojans, who made the program's 2nd-ever NAIA Playoff appearance.

Series History
• Trinity International and St. Ambrose first met in 1996, when the Bees earned the 22-20 win in Davenport.
• The Trojans have one just one meeting in the all-time series with SAU, back in 2003, in a 24-3 contest in Deerfield.
• Despite falling last season 31-28, Trinity International scored their highest point total against the Bees since 1997, and reached the 20-point mark for just the third time in the series.

Last Time vs St. Ambrose
• Trinity International took a 28-24 lead late in the fourth quarter, but St. Ambrose drove 53 yards in 2:35 to score the game-winning touchdown with under 90 seconds to play, holding on for a 31-28 win over the Trojans in Davenport.
• Running back Chris Elliott collected 184 yards with a touchdown for the Trojans, his highest rushing total in 2013.
• St. Ambrose quarterback Eric Williamson threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns, going 27-for-46 on the day without an interception.
• Trojan wideout Cristian Robinson caught 10 passes for 127 yards and a TD on the day, while all other TIU receivers didn't make more than one reception in the game.
• On the final drive, the Trojans crossed into midfield, needing a field goal to tie the game, but an interception on the SAU 31-yard line sealed the win for the Bees; the pick was the first turnover for either team in the game.

About St. Ambrose
• The Bees have gotten off to a tough start in 2014, with a 1-3 record, after qualifying for the NAIA Playoffs last season.
• St. Ambrose's defense ranks 3rd in the NAIA, with an average of 3.8 sacks per game. The Bees recorded a season-high six sacks at Taylor in the season-opener, and got to the Concordia quarterback five times in their win on Sept. 27.
• Junior wideout Brad Connor is 3rd in the MSFA with 96.0 receiving yards per game. Connor averaged six catches per game, but has just one touchdown catch on the year.
• Connor also ranks 9th in the NAIA as the Bees' punt returner, and has an average of 14.9 yards per return.

A Trojan Win Would...
• ... Improve the Trojans back to .500, with a 3-3 mark overall, and a 1-1 start in the MSFA Midwest League.
• ... Be the second-ever win over St. Ambrose, and the first for Trinity International since 2003.

A Trojan Loss Would...
• ... Drop their overall record to 2-4 and extend their current losing streak to four games.
• ... Mark the 11th straight loss to St. Ambrose, dating back to 2004.
• ... Be the sixth overall loss in the last eight games for Trinity, stretching back to last season.
• ... Mean the Trojans would need to win out the rest of the season to secure a higher win total than last season, when Trinity went 5-5 on the year.

Leslie Frazier Field
• TIU is 9-14 at home in the Wherritt era, and are 50-70-1 all-time at Frazier Field.
• Including the win Wisconsin Lutheran earlier this season, the Trojans are 15-9-1 all-time in home openers, and have won the first game of the year at Frazier Field the past five seasons.
• The Trojans held a five-game win streak at Frazier Field last season before falling in the finale to William Penn. The run was their longest home win streak since earning eight straight wins from 2003-2005.

Trojan Football History
• The Trinity International Trojan football program has an all-time record of 100-156-2 (.388), dating back to their first season as a varsity program in 1990.
• TIU's head coach for the inaugural season in 1989 through 1996 was Leslie Frazier. Frazier was a member of the 1985 Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears, and is currently the defensive coordinator of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and had a record of 38-37-3 while at TIU.
• The Trojans have won three MSFA Midwest League titles in school history, in 1994, 1995, and 2003.
• Trinity International has earned two NAIA Football Championship Series berths, in 1994 and 2004. TIU is still searching for their first NAIA playoff victory, falling to Northwestern (Iowa) and Georgetown (Ky.), respectively.
• TIU has one appearance in the NCCAA Victory Bowl, where they fell to Garner-Webb (N.C.), 54-14, in 2001.

Trojan Attack
• Through five games, the Trojans rank 2nd in the MSFA with an average of 34.4 points per game, just 0.2 points lower than conference leaders St. Xavier.
 • The team averages 370.6 yards of total offense per game, good for 5th in the MSFA. They are the 3rd-ranked passing offense in the league, with 257.8 yards per game in the air.
• Against Olivet Nazarene last weekend, junior running back Chris Elliott moved into second place on the all-time TIU rushing list. Through last week's game, Elliott now has 2,592 career rushing yards, and is just 681 yards shy of the all-time school record, held by Todd Johnson (1990-94).
• Elliott recorded his second career 1,000-yard season in 2013, becoming the first Trojan to ever reach the 1K mark twice in his TIU career.
• The Miami, Fla. native's career high came as a freshman in 2012, with an MSFA-record 346 yards in the final game of the year over Waldorf.
• Quarterback Stephen Anderson set a new single-game school record, throwing for seven touchdowns in the win over Wisconsin Lutheran. His 413 passing yards in the game is the second-highest total in school history, and is just the second time a Trojan QB has surpassed the 400-yard mark.
• Freshman kick returner Gary Tyler set a new TIU single-game record last weekend against Robert Morris. The Winnetka, Calif. native averaged 39.4 yards per kick return, highlighted by his 100-yard return for a touchdown. Tyler ranks 32nd in the NAIA with 218 total return yards this season.

TIU Defense
• The Trojan defense has been one of the best in the nation at forcing turnovers this season, with 12 interceptions to lead the MSFA, and a plus-8 turnover margin, also best in the league.
• TIU ranks 19th in the NAIA with 2.6 sacks per game, and 20th nationally with 13 total sacks on the year.
• Linebacker Riley Schussler is 5th in the nation, with an average of 0.6 forced fumbles per game. Schussler also is 14th nationally in tackles, averaging 11.0 per game.
• As a freshman, Daniel Harris has three interceptions on the year, tied for 3rd-most in the MSFA, and 13th-most in the NAIA.

TIU in the Polls
• The Trojans start the season as an unranked program, after spending some time in the NAIA-AFCA Coaches Poll last year, earning a national ranking for three weeks of the season.
• The Trojans were ranked as high as No. 21 on Oct. 7, following their win over Olivet Nazarene.
• Before last season, Trinity's last ranking came in 2005 (No. 24, Sept. 19).
• TIU has been ranked 18 weeks in the program's history, and hold an all-time record of 14-11 (.560) as a nationally-ranked team.
• The Trojans are 7-42 (.143) all-time against ranked opponents, and 51-64 (.443) against unranked teams.
• When TIU is unranked, they are 47-105 (.309) since the poll's debut in 1999.

NCCAA Victory Bowl
• The top two teams in the NCCAA based on winning percentage will meet at the end of the season in Rome, Ga., for the 2014 Victory Bowl. Kickoff for the NCCAA's national championship game is set for Nov. 22.
• Trinity International has made one previous appearance at the Victory Bowl, in 2001. The Trojans fell to current NCAA Division I foe Gardner-Webb (N.C.), 54-14.
• The Trojans are currently ninth in the NCCAA standings, as Northwestern (Minn.), Greenville (Ill.), and North Greenville (S.C.) are all tied atop the rankings with identical 4-1 records.

Rescued with TIU Football
• The Trinity International football program has partnered with Bright Hope for a second year to raise $30,000 and rescue 10 girls trapped in sex trafficking in northern India.
• Last season, the Trojans helped raise over $14,000 and raised awareness for Bright Hope's Anti-Human Trafficking Initiative.
• Seven players spent their spring break last year traveling to northern India with Bright Hope, to minister at a safe house, while also raising awareness by speaking at local universities and churches.
