BANNOCKBURN, Ill. --- The TIU football program has had one of their student-athletes recognized as a scholar-athlete by both the NAIA and NCCAA.
Junior
Logan Shears has been honored as both an NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete. This is his second designation for the award from the NAIA as he pursues a major in business.
The NAIA requires student-athletes to have a 3.5 cumulative GPA, as well as have been at their respective institution for at least one academic year as a sophomore or above.
To receive the scholar-athlete title from the NCCAA, a student must have a 3.4 cumulative GPA, be a junior or above in the classroom and have attended their respective school for at least one academic year.
