Quick Notes
• The Trinity International Trojans make their first conference road trip of the season this weekend, when TIU takes on Trinity Christian on Saturday, December 6. Tipoff against the Trolls is set for 1:00 p.m.
• The game will be available live, online, through the "Live Game Video" feature at athletics.trnty.edu.
• TIU will look to snap a 27-game slide, dating back to last season.
• The Trojans are averaging 41.0 points per game, 13th-most in the CCAC; Defensively, they have allowed 76.9 points per game, ranking 10th in the conference.
• Trinity Christian has posted an average of 64.8 points per game (9th in CCAC), and 66.2 points allowed (6th in CCAC).
• The Trojans were 5-24 last season, including an 0-18 mark in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
• Trinity returns just 44.3% of its scoring output from last season, as the top three scorers from a year ago graduated at the end of the season. This year's roster consists of just one senior, and included a total of 12 freshmen and sophomores.
• The Trojans have had arguably the toughest opening stretch of any team in the NAIA. Trinity faced off against five nationally-ranked programs in the month of November, including each opponent in the first four games of the season. TIU capped that run off with a matchup against No. 1 St. Francis (Ind.).
• Sophomore Basha Ramsey has led the team in the early portion of the season, with 10.6 points per game. Freshman Nika Bracun has been TIU's leading rebounder, averaging 5.8 boards per night.
• Bracun scored a career-high 23 points against Roosevelt on Nov. 19, setting a new season high for any TIU player this year. In just her sixth collegiate game, the freshman became the only current Trojan to score 20 points in a game.
Series History with Trinity Christian
• Dating back to the 2003-04 season, both Trinity Christian and Trinity International have have 11 wins against on another.
• The Trolls have taken three of the last four meetings over Trinity International, over the past two seasons. TIU had won five straight from 2010-12 over Trinity Christian, and nine of ten from 2008-12.
• The Trojans had won six straight games at home over the Trolls, until last year's loss on Dec. 7.
Last Time Out vs. Trinity Christian
• Senior Abigail Hemmeger collected a team-high 12 points, but a slow start for the Trinity International Trojans proves too much to overcome, falling to the Trinity Christian Trolls 79-52 on the road back on Feb. 8, 2014.
• After Trinity Christian scored the first points of the day less than 15 seconds into the game, Hemmeger's first of six field goals tied the early score at 2-2. The Trolls answered with seven straight points as part of a 15-2 run, building a lead they would hold the rest of the game.
• Trinity International got into more of a rhythm after the halftime break, playing the Trolls to an even 34-34 score in the second half. Hemmeger posted ten of her 12 points in the second half, going 5-of-8 from the field during that time.
• Senior Clarissa Woodard nearly picked up what would have been her fifth double-double of the season, posting nine points and 10 rebounds on the day. Freshman Rachel Carter pitched in with eight points off the bench, going 3-of-4 from the field.
• On Dec. 3, in the season's first meeting between the Trojans and Trolls, TIU were unable to overcome a slow start, shooting 29.1% from the field in a 73-45 loss. Senior Montanique Washington led the Trojans with 11 points, but was the lone TIU player to reach double figures on the night.
League Leaders
• Trinity ranks 2nd in the CCAC, allowing a .264 three-point shooting percentage to their opponents. (20th in NAIA). As a whole, TIU opponents have been shooting at a .410 clip, the 4th-highest average in the conference.
• The team has a total of 27 blocked shots on the year, placing them 34th among NAIA squads.
• Freshman Nika Bracun sits tied for 18th in the CCAC with 5.8 rebounds per game, and is the third-ranked freshman in the league. Bracun also ranks 9th in the conference in defensive boards, with 4.8 each night.
• Basha Ramsey is the lone Trojan among the top 30 scoring leaders in the CCAC; her 10.6 points per game average places her 28th on the conference leaderboard.
Trojan Program History
• Head Coach Laurel Wartluft is one of the winningest head coaches in NAIA history; Wartluft has collected 344 wins over her 24 years as a head coach, which ranks 16th on the NAIA's winningest active head coaching list.
• TIU has made two appearances at the NAIA Women's Basketball Championship, in 1992-93, and 1994-95. The Trojans lost in the first round both times, to College of the Ozarks (Mo.) in 1993, and Western Oregon in 1995.
• Since 2003-04, TIU has posted an overall record of 151-209 (.419).
•Trinity International has never appeared in the NAIA Coaches Poll, since it's debut in 1999-00.
