BANNOCKBURN, Ill. —The TIU women's basketball program has six student-athletes who have been recognized as a scholar-athlete by one or both of the NAIA and NCCAA as a result of their excellence in the classroom during the 2022-23 season.

The 2022-23 class of women's basketball scholar-athletes are:

• Kaiya Albert (NCCAA)
• Hattie Black (NAIA, NCCAA)
• Ashley Geisler (NAIA, NCCAA)
• Breleigh Gula (NAIA, NCCAA)
• Amber Reynolds (NCCAA)
• Saskia Stegbauer (NAIA)

Throughout program history, women's basketball has had 24 NAIA Scholar-Athletes since 1999 and 17 NCCAA Scholar-Athletes since 2000.

The NAIA requires student-athletes to have a 3.5 cumulative GPA, as well as have been at their respective institution for at least one academic year as a sophomore or above.

To receive the scholar-athlete title from the NCCAA, a student must have a 3.4 cumulative GPA, be a junior or above in the classroom and have attended their respective school for at least one academic year.
