• Trinity International welcomes the Holy Cross Saints to Van Dixhorn Arena this weekend, for the first CCAC home game of the season.

• The Trojans are looking to climb back to the .500 mark after Wednesday night's loss at #6 St. Xavier in the CCAC opener.
• Senior guard Rayelle Ross leads the team with 14.4 points per game in the early season. Sarina Falvo (11.4 ppg) is also averaging double figures for the Trojans.
• Senior forward Marlou Peters is averaging a team-high 6.2 rebounds per game. Five different Trojans are pulling down three or more boards per game.
• As a team, the Trojans rank 23rd in the NAIA in three-point shooting, is hitting 36.8% from beyond the arc. In the win over Cincinnati Christian, TIU went 8-of-13 (61.5%) from long range.
• TIU head coach Laurel Wartluft earned her 355th career victory at Cincinnati Christian last weekend. Wartluft is one of 14 active coaches in NAIA Division II with 350 or more victories.
• Trinity is averaging 63.6 points per game as a team, good for 8th in the CCAC. Defensively, the Trojans allow an average of 66.8 points per game, tied for 7th in the league.
• The Holy Cross offense ranks 12th in the CCAC, averaging 60.3 points per game, while on the defensive end of the floor the Saints allow 72.1 points per game, ranking 11th in the league.
• Trinity ranks 2nd in the CCAC and 4th in the NAIA with an .793 free throw percentage. The Trojans have connected on 75% or more of their free throws in three of the five games to date this season.
• The Trojans are looking to improve upon last season's record of 8-19, which was the program's highest win total in three seasons.
Series History
• The Trojans will meet with Holy Cross for the 12th time in program history, with both programs going 6-6 in the all-time series.
• Trinity won five straight meetings from 2011-12, but since have dropped four of the last five to the Saints.
Last Time Out vs. Holy Cross
• Trinity outscored their opponents in three of four periods, but a big second quarter for the host Saints proved too much to overcome, as the Trojans fell 61-50 on Nov. 21, 2015.
• Sarina Falvo led the Trojans with 14 points on the day, going 4-for-6 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point range. JaToya Woods posted 12 points as the only other Trojan in double figures. Rayelle Ross scored nine points, all in the second half, on 4-of-8 shooting.
• The Trojans started the second period with a three-point advantage, but after TIU scored just two field goals in the quarter, the Saints went on a 14-2 run to go into the halftime break up 12, outscoring Trinity in the second quarter 17-5.
Scouting the Opponent
• The Saints have gotten off to a 2-5 start to the season, but are a perfect 1-0 in league play after an 82-70 win over Indiana-South Bend on Wednesday night.
• Holy Cross ranks 8th in the NAIA, with 59 made three-pointers as a team. Jessica Norris leads the team with 20 three-point field goals, the 14th-highest total in the NAIA.
• Shana Anderson leads the team in scoring, with 11.4 points per game.
National Leaders
• Senior guard Rayelle Ross is among the NAIA's national leaders in steals, ranking 20th with an average of 3.0 steals per game. Her 15 total steals this year ranks 46th in the NAIA.
• Ross is also 36th nationally with a .455 three-point shooting percentage.
• Senior guard Sarina Falvo is 43rd in the NAIA, shooting .833 from the free throw line.
Trojan Program History
• Head Coach Laurel Wartluft is one of the winningest active head coaches in the NAIA; Wartluft has collected 356 wins over her 26 years as a head coach.
• TIU has made two appearances at the NAIA Women's Basketball Championship, in 1992-93, and 1994-95. The Trojans lost in the first round both times, to College of the Ozarks (Mo.) in 1993, and Western Oregon in 1995.
• Since 2003-04, TIU has posted an overall record of 161-244 (.398).
•Trinity International has never appeared in the NAIA Coaches Poll, since it's debut in 1999-00.
1,000 Point Club
• Since 2003-04, four Trojans have reached 1,000 career points, most recently Brittany Simon (2009-13), with 1,019 points.
• Basha Ramsey is the active career leader in scoring, with 569 points.
