Quick Notes

• Trinity International can earn their third win in a row, setting the mark for longest win streak of the year, when they pay a visit to the Governors State Jaguars on Saturday afternoon.

• The Trojans are coming off of a pair of home victories, over Lincoln Christian (Ill.) and Calumet St. Joseph last week.
• Senior guard Sarina Falvo leads the team with 12.1 points per game this season. Rayelle Ross (8.5 ppg), Basha Ramsey, and Arielle Miree (both 8.3 ppg) are just shy of double figures on the year.
• Ramsey made her season debut against Purdue-Northwest on Dec. 3, returning from injury to score a team-high ten points. 
• Ramsey is also averaging a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game, as seven different Trojans are pulling down three or more boards per game.
• As a team, the Trojans rank 14th in the NAIA in free throw shooting, connecting at the charity stripe with a .751 percentage. Trinity shot 19-of-20 (.950) from the free throw line in Saturday's win over Calumet St. Joseph.
• TIU head coach Laurel Wartluft earned her 355th career victory at Cincinnati Christian. Wartluft is one of 15 active coaches in NAIA Division II with 350 or more victories.
• Trinity is averaging 62.8 points per game as a team, good for 11th in the CCAC. Defensively, the Trojans allow an average of 63.3 points per game, ranking 6th in the league.
• Governors State average 57.1 points per game, ranking 13th in the conference, and are 11th in the CCAC on defense, giving up 72.0 points each night.
• Trinity ranks 3rd in the CCAC with an average of 11.9 steals per game. The team's average grew by more than two steals per game after recording a season-high 31 in the win over Lincoln Christian on Dec. 7.
• The Trojans are looking to improve upon last season's record of 8-19, which was the program's highest win total in three seasons.

Series History
• Saturday will be the 2nd meeting between the Trojans and Jaguars, since Governors State joined the NAIA in 2015-16.
• This year's meeting will be the first for Governors State as a member of the CCAC.

Scouting the Opponent
• The Jaguars are 2-8 on the season, and have dropped their last six matchups, stretching back to Nov. 22. Their two victories are over teams that Trinity has also defeated earlier in the year, in Calumet St. Joseph and Cincinnati Christian.
• Amber Brooks leads the team with 8.6 rebounds per game, and is 4th in the NAIA with 4.6 offensive boards each game.
• Zaporia Smith leads the Jaguars with 12.4 points per game.

Last Time Out vs. Governors State
• Senior guard JaToya Woods led Trinity International with 22 points, while junior Basha Ramsey recorded a double-double in her second game back from injury, as the Trojans secured a non-conference victory over the host Jaguars, Jan. 2, 2016.
• Despite averaging nearly five three-pointers per game this year, the Trojans hit just a single shot from beyond the arc. Trinity's defense secured the win over the Jaguars (0-18) by holding their opponents to a .247 shooting percentage on the day.
• Ramsey tallied a season-high 18 points and 13 rebounds in the win, for her fourth career double-double. Meanwhile, Woods also looked dominant on both ends of the floor, grabbing a game-high five steals while dealing out four assists along with leading all scorers.

National Leaders
Sarina Falvo ranks 11th among the NAIA national leaders in free throw shooting, connecting at the stripe with an .889 percentage.
Arielle Miree is averaging 3.5 assists per game, good for 50th in the NAIA.

Trojan Program History
• Head Coach Laurel Wartluft is one of the winningest active head coaches in the NAIA; Wartluft has collected 358 wins over her 26 years as a head coach.
• TIU has made two appearances at the NAIA Women's Basketball Championship, in 1992-93, and 1994-95. The Trojans lost in the first round both times, to College of the Ozarks (Mo.) in 1993, and Western Oregon in 1995.
• Since 2003-04, TIU has posted an overall record of 163-248 (.397).
•Trinity International has never appeared in the NAIA Coaches Poll since it's debut in 1999-00.

1,000 Point Club
• Since 2003-04, four Trojans have reached 1,000 career points, most recently Brittany Simon (2009-13), with 1,019 points.
Basha Ramsey is the active career leader in scoring, with 594 points.
