Quick Notes
 • Trinity International will try and bounce back after a pair of tough losses over the weekend, when they travel to face the Purdue-North Central Panthers on Tuesday afternoon. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m. in the first game of the doubleheader.
• The Trojans are coming off two shutout losses to Calumet St. Joseph on Saturday, in the first road trip of the conference season. Trinity dropped game one in a run-rule shortened contest, 8-0 after six innings, and game two by a 3-0 margin.
• The win over Cardinal Stritch on Mar. 22 marked the first CCAC victory for Trinity in five seasons. On Apr. 21, 2011, the Trojans also defeated Stritch by a 3-0 margin.
• On Mar. 19, TIU scored a pair of victories over Blackburn (Ill.), marking the first doubleheader sweep for Trinity since the 2007 season.
• Nearing the halfway mark of the regular season so far, the Trojan softball program has recorded five victories, its highest win total since 2010, when TIU finished 7-31 overall.
• Freshman pitcher Taylor Carli has led the Trojans in the circle, appearing in 15 of 16 games so far this season. Carli has posted a 4-10 record this season, with a 3.91 ERA.
• Sophomore Alyssa Doomis has the team lead in batting average entering play this week, hitting .318 on the year. Doomis also has the team's highest slugging percentage, at .432, and the second-highest on base percentage, at .412.
• As a team, the Trojans have posted a 3.65 ERA, good for 9th in the CCAC. Purdue-North Central has the conference's highest team ERA entering play this week, at 6.44.
• The Trojans' .215 team batting average is 13th in the conference so far this season, while the Panthers place 12th with a .246 average.
Last Time Out
 • Trinity International struggled to get into a rhythm at the plate on Saturday, as the Trojans were shut out in both games of a doubleheader, falling 8-0 and 3-0 against the Calumet St. Joseph Crimson Wave.
 • The Trojans generated six hits over both games, led by Alyssa Doomis and Allison Naujokas, who each had a pair of singles.
 • Trinity settled in defensively early in game two, as freshman pitcher Taylor Carli allowed just one hit through the first three innings. Calumet pushed the first run of the game across in the fourth, after a two-out RBI single. The Wave added two more in the 5th, with another two-out rally that put the home team ahead 3-0.
Series vs. Purdue-N.C.
 • The Panthers hold a 16-4 lead in the series with Trinity, dating back to 2006.
 • Purdue-North Central have won the last 8 meetings with Trinity, with four of those eight wins coming in run-rule shortened contests.
 • The Trojans last win over Purdue-North Central came on Mar. 29, 2011, in a 6-5 extra-inning affair, with Allie Micucci driving in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 9th.
Conference Leaders
 • Taylor Carli has put in a lot of time in the circle in her first year at Trinity; the freshman has posted 91.1 innings pitched so far this season, out of the 101.2 innings pitched by the team as a whole.
 • Carli ranks 2nd in the CCAC in innings pitched, and is 30th in the NAIA in innngs pitched per game, at 6.09.
 • The Lombard, Ill. native also ranks among league leaders in strikeouts, with 46 so far this year, the 6th-highest among CCAC pitchers.
 • Junior shortstop Allison Naujokas has been hit by 12 pitches through 16 games this season, leading the CCAC. Naujokas leads the Trojans with a .462 on-base percentage, thanks in part to the free passes.
• In the field, Tori Livingston ranks 5th in the conference in both putouts (129) and chances (136).
Last Year vs. PNC
 • Freshman Emily Doomis hit a combined 3-for-5, as the lone Trojan to record a hit in both games of the doubleheader, but Trinity International's offense was otherwise slowed, falling to the Purdue-North Central Panthers, 3-1 in game one, and 16-0 in the nightcap, Mar. 19, 2015 at Heritage Park.
 • Breanna Hansen put in a strong performance in the circle, pitching all seven innings of the first game, allowing just three runs. PNC jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, thanks in part to a leadoff triple, and a two-out RBI double. The Panthers tacked on another run in the third, with back-to-back doubles, moving ahead 3-0.
 • The Trojans got on the board with a rally in the 6th, after Ashley O'Brien's one-out triple after 12 straight Trojans had been retired. Victoria Livingston then singled to left-center, allowing the senior to score. Another single from Jamie Stanton in the next at-bat put the tying run on first for Trinity, but the Trojans were unable to cash in.
TIU Softball History
• Since 2006, Trinity Softball has an all-time record of 50-312 (.138). The Trojans' last winning season came in 2006, when TIU finished 23-22.
• Trinity's last appearance in the CCAC Tournament came in 2007, when the Trojans went 1-2, falling to eventual conference champ St. Xavier.
• The Trojans have made one appearance in the NCCAA National Championship, also in 2007. The Trojans upset the higher-seeded Emmanuel (Ga.) before falling in the quarterfinals. Trinity has never made an appearance in the NAIA Softball World Series.
