Â
Quick Notes
 • After a full week off thanks to a weekend rainout, Trinity International softball take the field again Thursday night, when they travel to face the Roosevelt Lakers in Rosemont, Ill.Â
 • The Trojans are looking to rebound from their current six-game skid, dropping doubleheaders to Calumet St. Joseph, Purdue-North Central, and St. Francis in their past three appearances.
 • The win over Cardinal Stritch on Mar. 22 marked the first CCAC victory for Trinity in five seasons. On Apr. 21, 2011, the Trojans also defeated Stritch by a 3-0 margin.
 • On Mar. 19, TIU scored a pair of victories over Blackburn (Ill.), marking the first doubleheader sweep for Trinity since the 2007 season.
 • The Trojan softball program has recorded five victories so far this season, its highest win total since 2010, when TIU finished 7-31 overall.
 • Freshman pitcher Taylor Carli has led the Trojans in the circle, appearing in 19 of 20 games so far this season. Carli has posted a 4-14 record this season, with a 3.52 ERA.
 • Sophomore Alyssa Doomis has the team lead in batting average entering play this week, hitting .291 on the year. Doomis also has the team's highest slugging percentage, at .382, and the second-highest on base percentage, at .391.
 • As a team, the Trojans have posted a 3.34 ERA, good for 9th in the CCAC. Roosevelt will look to improve in the circle against Trinity, as the Lakers' ERA of 5.65 is currently highest in the league.
 • The Trojans' .201 team batting average is 13th in the conference so far this season, while the Lakers have had a solid season at the plate, hitting at a .318 clip, good for third in the CCAC.
 • Three runs appear to be the magic number for the Trojan offense in 2016. Trinity has gone a perfect 5-0 in games where three runs cross the plate, and are winless in each contest where the offense score two or fewer runs. Roosevelt have allowed at least three runs 24 of 27 games so far this year, including all but one game in league play.
Last Time Out  Â
 • A small rally in the 4th inning of both ends of a doubleheader proved to be the difference, as Trinity International hung within striking distance but ultimately dropped both games to the St. Francis Saints, falling 3-1 in game one, and 2-0 in game two.
 • The Saints scored all five runs in the 4th inning of both games, breaking up a scoreless tie in both contests. Freshman pitcher Taylor Carli looked strong in the circle for Trinity, striking out nine over both games while allowing three earned runs on the day.
 • Seven Trojans finished with a hit on the day, with Tori Livingston recording the only multi-hit performance, going 2-for-3 in game two.
Series vs. Roosevelt     Â
 • Thursday marks the fourth meeting all-time between the Trojans and Lakers, with Roosevelt holding a 6-0 lead in the series.
 • Thursday will be just the second matchup at home for Roosevelt in the series, with the last four games being played in Deerfield.
 • Trinity's closest game with the Lakers came in the first meeting in the series, on Apr. 24, 2013. The Trojans scored three times in the 7th inning but came up short in the comeback attempt, falling 9-8 in the first of a doubleheader.
Conference Leaders     Â
 • Taylor Carli has put in a lot of time in the circle in her first year at Trinity; the freshman has posted 117.1 innings pitched so far this season, out of the 127.2 innings pitched by the team as a whole.
 • Carli ranks 2nd in the CCAC, and 29th nationally in the NAIA, in innings pitched. She is averaging 6.23 innings pitched per game, the 21st-highest average in the NAIA.
 • The Lombard, Ill. native also ranks among league leaders in strikeouts, with 55 so far this year, the 7th-highest among CCAC pitchers.
 • Junior shortstop Allison Naujokas has been hit by 13 pitches through 20 games this season, leading the CCAC. Naujokas leads the Trojans with a .422 on-base percentage, thanks in part to the free passes.
 • In the field, Tori Livingston ranks 6th in the conference in both putouts (159) and chances (168).
Last Year vs. RUÂ Â Â
 • In their final home game of the season, Trinity International softball suffered a doubleheader sweep at the hands of the Roosevelt Lakers, falling 8-0 in game one, then taking an 8-1 loss in game two.
 • Jamie Stanton got the start in the first game of the day, holding the Lakers off the scoreboard for the first three innings. Roosevelt took a 2-0 lead in the top of the 4th, using three hits and an error to push across a pair of unearned runs. After tacking on another run to make it a 3-0 lead in the 5th, Roosevelt scored five runs on three hits and three errors in the top of the 6th to secure an 8-0 lead.
 • Catcher Alyssa Doomis finished the first game 2-for-3, while Danielle Donorovich went 1-for-2 with the team's lone extra-base hit, a double in the bottom of the 5th.
 • In game two, the Trojans again held the Lakers to a tie game through three innings. Roosevelt took an early 1-0 lead on a passed ball in the top of the 1st, but Trinity would tie the game in the bottom of the 2nd, when Emily Doomis' double to center allowed Justine Wigboldy to hit a sacrifice fly to right, as Victoria Livingston came home to score. The Lakers would score in each of the final four innings to build an 8-1 lead. Roosevelt posted a pair of runs in the top of the 4th, then three more in the 5th on their way to their second win of the day.
TIU Softball History     Â
