• Trinity International hits the road this weekend, looking to end a three-game slide when they take on Indiana-South Bend on Saturday afternoon.

• The Trojans are coming off of a 94-64 home loss to No. 4 St. Xavier on Wednesday night, their second loss in as many games to a team ranked among the top four in the NAIA Coaches' Poll.
• Senior guard Sarina Falvo leads the team with 11.2 points per game this season. Falvo led the Trojans with 13 points in Wednesday's game with SXU, her second double-figure performance in the last three games.
• Junior guard Tashyra Burrough is averaging 8.7 points per game this year, but has put up an average of 13.7 points in the last six games, including a career-high 21 at Olivet Nazarene on Jan. 14.
• Senior Rayelle Ross is third in scoring for the Trojans, with 7.9 points per game. Ross led the Trojans with 17 points in Trinity's last win, at Lincoln Christian on Jan. 17.
• Senior point guard Arielle Miree is shooting a team-best 37.5% from three-point range while leading the Trojans with 3.0 assists per game. Miree posted ten points to lead Trinity in scoring during last Saturday's matchup against #1 St. Francis.
• After missing the first eight games of the season to injury, Basha Ramsey has averaged 6.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Ramsey posted 12 points in the win at Lincoln Christian on Jan. 17, and finished with ten points and four steals at Olivet Nazarene on Jan. 14.
• As a team, the Trojans rank 22nd in the NAIA in free throw shooting, connecting at the charity stripe with a .733 percentage. Trinity reached the 90% mark for the second time this season, going 9-for-10 from the line against St. Xavier on Wednesday.
• On the defensive end, Trinity holds their opponents to a .372 shooting percentage, good for 38th-lowest in the NAIA.
• TIU head coach Laurel Wartluft earned her 360th career victory at Lincoln Christian on Tuesday. Wartluft is one of 15 active coaches in NAIA Division II with 350 or more victories.
• Trinity is averaging 61.2 points per game as a team, good for 13th in the CCAC. Defensively, the Trojans allow an average of 68.0 points per game, ranking 8th in the league.
• Indiana-South Bend is 12th in the league in points scored, with 61.7 points per game, and rank 6th in points allowed, giving up just 66.9 points each night.
• Trinity ranks 5th in the CCAC with an average of 10.6 steals per game. Sarina Falvo leads the team with 1.9 steals per game.
• The Trojans are looking to improve upon last season's record of 8-19, which was the program's highest win total in three seasons.

 

Series History

• Saturday will be the 13th meeting between the Trojans and Titans, with Indiana-South Bend holding an 8-4 lead in the all-time series.
• Indiana-South Bend have won each of the past four meetings, with the last Trinity victory coming in the 2012-13 regular season finale. IUSB then defeated the Trojans two days later, in the first round of the CCAC Tournament.

 

Last Time Out vs. Indiana-South Bend

• Despite a close game through the first ten minutes, a scoring drought in the second and third periods allowed the visiting Indiana-South Bend Titans to pull away, as Trinity International suffered a 69-45 loss on Jan. 30, 2016 inside Van Dixhorn Arena.
• Senior guard JaToya Woods led the Trojans with 15 points on the night, on 6-of-14 shooting, the lone player for TIU in double figures.

 

Scouting the Opponent

• The Titans are currently on the outside looking in for a spot in the CCAC Tournament, with a 4-10 record in league play. IUSB have dropped six of their last seven contests, all in league play.
• Freshman Vicki Gard leads the team with 14.6 points per game, and ranks 19th in the NAIA with a .420 shooting percentage from three-point range.



National Leaders

• Sarina Falvo ranks 15th among the NAIA national leaders in free throw shooting, connecting at the stripe with an .851 percentage.

 

Trojan Program History

• Head Coach Laurel Wartluft is one of the winningest active head coaches in the NAIA; Wartluft has collected 360 wins over her 26 years as a head coach.
• TIU has made two appearances at the NAIA Women's Basketball Championship, in 1992-93, and 1994-95. The Trojans lost in the first round both times, to College of the Ozarks (Mo.) in 1993, and Western Oregon in 1995.
• Since 2003-04, TIU has posted an overall record of 165-256 (.392).
•Trinity International has never appeared in the NAIA Coaches Poll since it's debut in 1999-00.

 

1,000 Point Club

• Five Trojans have reached 1,000 career points, most recently Brittany Simon (2009-13), with 1,104 points.
• Basha Ramsey is the active career leader in scoring, with 654 points.
