Quick Notes

• Trinity International looks to get back into the win column on Wednesday, when they travel to Elgin and take on the Judson Eagles.

• The Trojans are coming off of a 61-57 overtime loss at Indiana-South Bend on Saturday, their first overtime game of the season.
• Senior guard Sarina Falvo leads the team with 11.0 points per game this season. Falvo led the Trojans with 13 points in last Wednesday's game against #4 St. Xavier, her second double-figure performance in the last four games.
• Junior guard Tashyra Burrough is averaging 8.9 points per game this year, but finishes the month of January with an average of 10.8 points in the last six games, including a career-high 21 at Olivet Nazarene on Jan. 14.
• Senior Rayelle Ross is third in scoring for the Trojans, with 7.9 points per game. Ross led the Trojans with 17 points in Trinity's last win, at Lincoln Christian on Jan. 17.
• Senior point guard Arielle Miree is shooting a team-best 38.2% from three-point range while leading the Trojans with 3.1 assists per game. Miree posted ten points to lead Trinity in scoring during the Jan. 21 matchup against #1 St. Francis.
• After missing the first eight games of the season to injury, Basha Ramsey has averaged 6.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Ramsey posted 12 points in the win at Lincoln Christian on Jan. 17, and finished with ten points and four steals at Olivet Nazarene on Jan. 14.
• As a team, the Trojans rank 13th in the NAIA in free throw shooting, connecting at the charity stripe with a .740 percentage. Trinity reached the 90% mark in their last two games, going 9-for-10 at the line against #4 St. Xavier, and 11-for-12 at Indiana-South Bend on Saturday.
• On the defensive end, Trinity holds their opponents to a .372 shooting percentage, good for 34th-lowest in the NAIA.
• TIU head coach Laurel Wartluft earned her 360th career victory at Lincoln Christian on Tuesday. Wartluft is one of 15 active coaches in NAIA Division II with 350 or more victories.
• Trinity is averaging 61.0 points per game as a team, good for 13th in the CCAC. Defensively, the Trojans allow an average of 67.7 points per game, ranking 7th in the league.
• Judson is 7th in the league in points scored, with 65.4 points per game, and rank 4th in points allowed, giving up 64.6 points each night.
• Trinity ranks 5th in the CCAC with an average of 10.5 steals per game. Sarina Falvo leads the team with 1.8 steals per game.
• The Trojans are looking to improve upon last season's record of 8-19, which was the program's highest win total in three seasons.
 

Series History

• Wednesday will be the 32nd meeting between the Trojans and Eagles, with Judson holding a 21-10 lead in the all-time series.
• The Eagles have won the last seven matchups, and ten of the last eleven, dating back to the 2011-12 season. Previously, Trinity had won six in a row from 2009-11.
 

Last Time Out vs. Judson

• With a six-point advantage going into the fourth period, Trinity was unable to hold the lead, ultimately falling 70-69 to the Eagles on Nov. 22 inside Van Dixhorn Arena.
• Marlou Peters recorded her first double-double of the season and third of her career, leading the Trojans with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Sarina Falvo finished with 17 points while Arielle Miree came off the bench to score 14 along with a team-high three assists.
 

Scouting the Opponent

• The Eagles are currently 6th in the CCAC standings, with a 9-6 record in league play. Judson are 2-2 in their last four conference games, but are 8-1 at home.
• Junior guard Jayla Barrett leads Judson with 14.4 points per game, 12th-most in the CCAC.
 

National Leaders

• Sarina Falvo ranks 15th among the NAIA national leaders in free throw shooting, connecting at the stripe with an .859 percentage.
 

Trojan Program History

• Head Coach Laurel Wartluft is one of the winningest active head coaches in the NAIA; Wartluft has collected 360 wins over her 26 years as a head coach.
• TIU has made two appearances at the NAIA Women's Basketball Championship, in 1992-93, and 1994-95. The Trojans lost in the first round both times, to College of the Ozarks (Mo.) in 1993, and Western Oregon in 1995.
• Since 2003-04, TIU has posted an overall record of 165-257 (.391).
•Trinity International has never appeared in the NAIA Coaches Poll since it's debut in 1999-00.
 

1,000 Point Club

• Five Trojans have reached 1,000 career points, most recently Brittany Simon (2009-13), with 1,104 points.
• Basha Ramsey is the active career leader in scoring, with 659 points.
