Women's Basketball earn road win at Cincinnati Christian

Box Score CINCINNATI, Ohio. - After trailing by five at the halftime break the TIU Women's Basketball team used a strong second half to secure a 63-58 road victory of Cincinnati Christian on Saturday afternoon.

Sophia Anaya once again led the Trojans in scoring, racking up 20 points on the afternoon, while Bridgette Smith posted her first double-double of the season tallying 11 points and 10 boards.

A slow start shooting the ball in the first half saw the Trojans playing catch up through the first 20 minutes.The Eagles led by as much as seven in the opening half with the Trojans closing the gap to five before the break.

The strong play from Anaya and Smith sent the Trojans to a second half comeback that saw TIU lead by as much as 9 late in the 4th Quarter. To go along with the improved shooting efforts the Trojans went 17-22 from the free throw line to seal the victory.

The Lady Trojans are back in action on Monday  December 18th as they host Madonna University in their final game before the Christmas break.
