Box Score ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - In their second game of the week the TIU Women's Basketball team came up short in a CCAC matchup with Robert Morris, suffering a 77-59 loss on Saturday.
A career afternoon from Sophia Anaya set the tone for the Trojans, posting a career best 23 points to lead TIU. The strong effort from Anaya was not enough for the Trojans to make the comeback, as TIU shot just 32% from the field, and 36% from behind the three point arc.
In the opening half the Eagles jumped out to an early 12-0 lead after the Trojans just could not seem to find their shot. Bridgette Smith got the Trojans on the board midway through the quarter, but the early deficit was too much for the Trojans to overcome. RMU would hold a 41-32 advantage going into the half time break.
The second half saw much of the same from the Trojans, with TIU struggling to find their groove offensively. Anaya posted 12 of her 23 points in the second half, but the rest of the team shot just 31% from the field.
The Lady Trojans will look to get back on track this Wednesday when they host Olivet Nazarene at 5:30 pm inside the Van Dixhorn Arena.
