Women's Basketball unable to hold off #20 Olivet

Box Score DEERFIELD, Ill. - In a battle with one of the top teams in the CCAC, the TIU Women's Basketball team struggled finding their groove offensively, suffering a 104-59 loss to Olivet Nazarene on Wednesday evening.

Junior Guard Sophia Anaya put together another strong performance for the Trojans, but the fast paced offense of ONU was too much for the Trojans defense to handle. Anaya finished with 23 points while grabbing 5 boards in the loss.

The Trojans struggled making shots early in the first half, shooting 44% from the field. On the other end of the floor, ONU put together a 48% shooting effort while connecting on 12 three pointers in the first 20 minutes to give Olivet a 58-29 lead going into the halftime break.

In the second half the Trojans kept pace with the Tigers, thanks to back to back buckets from Anaya and Brookelyn Robertson. After a flurry of baskets to open the quarter the Trojans shooting struggles continued as TIU would not sink a basket until the final minute of the quarter.

Trinity International continued to keep pace with ONU in the final frame, but the long range offensive fire power from Olivet was too much as the Trojans would suffer a 104-59 loss in CCAC play.

The Lady Trojans will be back in action this Saturday as the Trojans host Holy Cross College at 1 pm inside the Van Dixhorn Arena.
