Box Score DEERFIELD, Ill. - A strong second half from the Lady Trojans was not enough, as the TIU Women's Basketball team suffered a 68-56 loss to the Roosevelt Lakers on Saturday afternoon.
The Trojans got off to a slow start to the opening quarter scoring just 8 points in the first 10 minutes. The poor shooting performance combined with 10 first half turnovers, proved to be the difference in the game.
After the opening quarter the Trojans started to find their groove offensively, knocking down shots and pulling within 7 points at the 5:32 mark in the 3rd Quarter. An ensuing 10-2 run sealed the victory for the Lakers, eventually defeating the Trojans 68-56.
Tashyra Burrough played arguably her best game of the season as the Senior led all players with 19 points, including going 5-6 from three point range.
The Lady Trojans hit the road on Wednesday as they travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to take on Cardinal Stritch University at 5:30 PM.
