Box Score DEERFIELD, Ill. - In their final home game inside the Van Dixhorn Arena the TIU Women's Basketball team was unable to come up with the win, suffering a 74-51 loss to Robert Morris University on Senior Night.
It was a career night for
Brandilyn Robertson as the Milwaukee, Wisconsin native would score a career high 17 points while grabbing 9 rebounds in the loss. Senior
Tashyra Burrough in her final game inside the Van Dixhorn Arena put forth another solid night, scoring 12 points while bringing down 4 rebounds and a trio of assists.
The opening half saw the Trojans struggle finding their groove offensively, shooting just 28% from the field after connecting on just 8-28 field goal attempts. RMU used a strong opening quarter to take an early advantage that they would never relinquish. A 43-21 advantage at the halftime buzzer put the Trojans in a hole they could night climb out of.
After struggling in the first half, Burrough began to find her shot in the second half, going 5-8 from the field and racking up all 12 of her points in the final 20 minutes. The strong play from Robertson and Burrough in the second half would not be enough as the Eagles would eventually hand TIU the 74-51 loss.
The Lady Trojans will wrap up the regular season next week as they head to South Bend, Indiana to take on Holy Cross College in their first of two games.
