• Trinity International men's soccer returns to Schartner Field for Homecoming week, with a chance pick up a pair of wins in conference play. The Trojans host St. Xavier on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., then take on Calumet St. Joseph on Homecoming Saturday, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday's matchup with the Cougars will be available online, at TIUTrojans.com/TIUSportsNetwork.
• The Trojans secured their first CCAC victory last weekend, earning a 1-0 win at Olivet Nazarene.
• With the win over the Tigers, the Trojans matched their win total from last season with seven games still on the calendar.
• The Trojans currently rank fourth in the CCAC with 27 goals on the year, and are 31st on the NAIA leaderboard. St. Xavier is 8th in the conference with an average of 1.36 goals per game, while Calumet sits 5th in the league with 1.73 goals per game.
Last Time Out
• Brett Robinson gave his team their first CCAC win of the season, with his goal in the 60th minute, as the Trojans earned a 1-0 road win at Olivet Nazarene.
• On Wednesday, the Trojans suffered a 1-0 loss on the road to the Trinity Christian Trojans. TCC scored the lone goal of the match in the final 16 seconds of regulation to take the match.
• The win over the Tigers was the first for TIU since 2007, snapping a six-match winless streak with ONU.
40th Anniversary
• This season marks the 40th anniversary of the 1974 NCCAA National Championship, won by Trinity College. The Trojans were one of four Christian colleges to be invited to the tournament, which was in its third year of existance.
• Hosted by Covenant College (Ga.), Trinity College defeated Bryan (Tenn.) 3-2 in the semifinals, before earning a 2-1 win over Messiah (Pa.).
• The 2014 squad will honor the NCCAA Champions with a special patch on their warmup jackets. The Trinity Soccer shield is featured in gold trim, along with a gold star above the shield, signifying the program's lone national title.
• Since 1974, Trinity has made 5 appearances in the NCCAA National Tournament, most recently in 2008. The Trojans hold a 7-5 record in NCCAA Tournament play.

Team Stats
• As a team, Trinity International ranks 4th in the CCAC in points (77), goals (27), goals per game (2.45), and are 2nd in assists (23), and assists per game (2.09).
• Nationally, TIU ranks 19th in the NAIA in total assists, 25th in assists per game, and 31st in total goals scored.
• The Trojans currently average the fewest fouls per match in the CCAC, at 8.18, over four fewer fouls per match than the next-lowest average. The team has collected only six yellow cards on the season, tied for fewest in the conference.
• Defensively, the Trojans average 1.45 goals allowed per game, ranking 5th in the CCAC. Trojan goalkeepers have averaged 5.18 saves in each match, the third-highest average in the league. TIU has two shutouts on the year, against Iowa Wesleyan and last weekend at Olivet Nazarene, but are three more clean sheets off the conference lead, held by ONU and Roosevelt.
Individual Stats
• Sophomore Zach Reget leads the Trojans with seven goals scored this season, good for 4th in the CCAC. Nationally, Reget sits 43rd on the NAIA's goal-scoring leaderboard.
• Reget is 6th in the CCAC, with an average of 2.00 points per match, and 16 total points this season.
• Erik Yamane has cracked the conference's top ten in assists, with four on the year.
• Senior Sean Avila has been one of the top goalkeepers in the league, with a 1.36 goals-against average that ranks 6th. Avila also has the CCAC's second-best save percentage, at .756, and is tied for third in the league with 34 saves made this season.
• Against Bethel (Ind.) on Aug. 26, sophomore Brad Stough made 13 saves in a 3-1 loss. His 13 saves are the highest single-game total by a CCAC keeper this season
• The 13 saves were the most by a Trojan goalkeeper since 2008, when Lucas Zicher made 17 stops in a 2-1 loss to Hope (Mich.) on Sept. 5.
Scouting the Opponents
St. Xavier
• The Cougars sit in a tie for second place in the CCAC standings, after a 1-0 win last weekend over Purdue-Calumet.
• The team is averaging 1.36 goals per game, which ranks 8th in the CCAC. Defensively, their 1.93 goals against average is also 8th-best in the conference.
• Junior Marco Gutierrez is the team's biggest offensive threat, averaging 3.09 shots taken per match, the 8th-highest average in the CCAC. Gutierrez, along with freshman Ricardo Aldape, lead the Cougars with four goals on the season.
• SXU has won eight of the last nine meetings over the Trojans, dating back to 2007. Trinity's lone win during that run came in 2008, in a 1-0 victory on the road.
Calumet St. Joseph
• The Crimson Wave will look to end a two-game slide when they host Purdue-Calumet, before taking on the Trojans this weekend. The Trojans and Crimson Wave are currently tied for 10th in the CCAC standings.
• CCAC ranks 5th in the CCAC in goals scored, averaging 1.73 per match. On the other end of the field, however, the Wave allow 2.36 goals per match, the second-highest total in the league.
• Forward Nick Barango leads the team and is 9th in the CCAC with 14 points this season. The sophomore also ranks 10th in total goals scored, with five, and 7th in assists, with 4.
• The Trojans had held a six-match unbeaten streak over Calumet St. Joseph, until last season, when the Crimson Wave took a 2-1 victory in Whiting.
