TRINITY INTERNATIONAL TROJANS (0-0) at CONCORDIA (Mich.) CARDINALS (0-1)
Saturday, August 27 | 10:00 a.m.
Ann Arbor, Mich. | Cardinal Stadium

This Week
 • The 2016 TIU Men's Soccer season gets underway this weekend, when the Trojans hit the road to face off against the Concordia (Mich.) Cardinals. Kickoff from Ann Arbor is set for 10:00 a.m. CDT.
 • Trinity returns five players with ten or more starts from a year ago, including the team's leading goal-scorer in senior Zach Reget.
 • The Trojans will look to snap a nine-match winless streak in season-openers when they take on the Cardinals, having gone a combined 0-6-1 in the first match of each season since 2007.

Last Time Out
 • The Trojans are coming off their best season in over a decade, going 10-8-1 to qualify for the NCCAA North Central Regional Final a year ago.
 • Trinity battled Bethel (Ind.) for a chance to advance to the NCCAA National Tournament, ultimately falling 3-0 to the national runners-up.
 • Earlier this week, the Trojans earned a 2-1 win over Concordia (Wisc.), and fell to Wheaton (Ill.) by a 2-0 margin in a pair of exhibitions.

Key Returners
 • Midfielder Zach Reget is set to begin his senior season after collecting a team-high 10 goals in 2015, the first double-digit scoring season for a TIU player since 2010.
 • Last season, Reget was named to the NCCAA All-North Central Region Team for the second time in his career, and was selected to the NCCAA All-American Third Team.
 • Sophomores T.J. Cake and Krystian Streit return to the squad after starting all 19 matches as freshmen last year. The duo combined for three goals and five assists in their first seasons in Deerfield.
 • Goalkeeper Jared Yonke looks to improve upon last year's performance, in which the freshman recorded ten victories and six shutouts.
 • Senior midfielder Noah Smith in the returning leader in minutes played, seeing over 1,700 minutes on the pitch last year.

Series History
 • The Trojans and Cardinals met for the first time last season, with Trinity earning a dominant home victory, 6-0.
 • Five different Trojans got on the scoresheet in the victory, including three first-year players who recorded their first career goals.
 • Trinity used a three-goal outburst within a span of five minutes in the first half to take a commanding lead, with scores from Zack Cemail, Jordan Dejno, and Brett Robinson.

Scouting the Opponents
Concordia (Mich.)

 • The Cardinals opened the season with a 5-2 home loss to Rochester (Mich.), in a match they led 2-0 in the 40th minute.
 • Senior Alex Vrzovski and sophomore Jeff Thomas put away the first goals of the season for Concordia.
 • Freshman goalkeeper Marino Moraccini made his collegiate debut, making five saves on the day.
 • Concordia is in the midst of a 20-game losing streak, dating back to 2014.

Looking Ahead
 • The Trojans have a busy week planned, with three matches over a five day stretch. Trinity will head west for a matchup with the Clarke (Iowa) Crusaders on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 30, before opening the home schedule with a pair of contests at Schartner Field.
• Trinity will play host to Bluefield (Va.) on Thursday, Sept. 1, before welcoming Cornerstone (Mich.) for a Saturday afternoon matchup.
