Nathaniel Michaelis scored on his Trinity debut in the 30th minute to give the Trojans (0-1) the two-goal advantage.
Kyle McNamara came on as a substitute in the first half to record his first career assist on Trinity's second goal.
Trinity outshot the home side by a 11-7 margin in the first half, but shots were an even 9-9 apiece after the break. The Cardinals (1-1) first broke through in the 51st minute, then tied the match five minutes later with goals from Alex Vrzovski and Josh Posuniak. The go-ahead goal game in the 79th minute from Roberth Ramirez to complete the comeback.
The Trojans wrap up the season-opening road trip on Tuesday, Aug. 30, when they travel to face the Clarke (Iowa) Crusaders. Kickoff from Davenport, Iowa is set for 4:30 p.m.
