Three second-half goals push Cardinals past Trojans

Box Score ANN ARBOR, Mich. - With two first-half goals putting Trinity International in front, the host Concorida (Mich.) Cardinals rallied with three scores after the break to defeat the Trojans, 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Zach Reget scored his 22nd career goal and first of the year just six minutes into play, while Nathaniel Michaelis scored on his Trinity debut in the 30th minute to give the Trojans (0-1) the two-goal advantage. Kyle McNamara came on as a substitute in the first half to record his first career assist on Trinity's second goal.

Trinity outshot the home side by a 11-7 margin in the first half, but shots were an even 9-9 apiece after the break. The Cardinals (1-1) first broke through in the 51st minute, then tied the match five minutes later with goals from Alex Vrzovski and Josh Posuniak. The go-ahead goal game in the 79th minute from Roberth Ramirez to complete the comeback.

The Trojans wrap up the season-opening road trip on Tuesday, Aug. 30, when they travel to face the Clarke (Iowa) Crusaders. Kickoff from Davenport, Iowa is set for 4:30 p.m.
