Box Score CHICAGO, Ill. - In a hard fought battle the TIU Men's Soccer team came up just short of their first CCAC win of the season, suffering a 3-1 defeat to the St. Xavier Cougars on Tuesday evening.

After a foul outside of the box on the Trojans, Ricardo Aldape found the back of the net in the 14th minute of play, sliding the free kick just past GK Eddie Windsor to give SXU the early lead. The Trojans were ablle to get on the scoresheet late in the half and tie the match after Aaron Penazek hit a beauty of a shot form 30 yards out to even the score.

The second half saw a strong performance from St. Xavier, and in the 48th minute the Cougars earned a foul in the box, and converted the ensuing PK for the eventual game-winning goal. SXU would add another goal in the 65th minute to seal the game.

The Trojans had their opportunities in the second half, firing three shots, with two on goal, but could not find the back of the net.

The Trojans are back in action this weekend when they travel to Palos Heights to take on Trinity Christian College at 2:30 pm.
