Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. - In a back and forth match all afternoon, it was the Trojans who came out on top, defeating Trinity Christian 3-2 to earn their first CCAC win on Saturday afternoon.
The Trojans would find the back of the net first just 12 minutes into the match as Senior
Tayler Strand scored his first career goal, heading home a corner kick served in by
T.J. Cake. The two teams would go into the halftime break with the Trojans up 1-0.
The opening 15 minutes of the second half saw the Trojans on their heels as TCC put away two quick goals off of the boot of Alejandro Sotelo to take a 2-1 lead.
From that moment on it was all TIU. The Trojans battled right back into the match as Senior
Wesley Ditchfield fired a ball from the top of the box that found the twine, tieing the match 2-2.
Freshman
Mason Brooke played hero late in the second half as the Peoria, Illinois native scored the eventual game winner in the 73rd minute.
The Trojans will be back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Arlington Heights to take on Robert Morris University at 4 pm.
