Men's Soccer suffer double-overtime defeat to Robert Morris

Box Score ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - Freshman Miguel Ramirez opened the scoring for TIU, but the Trojans were unable to hold the second half lead, suffering a 2-1 2OT loss to RMU.

The first half saw back and forth action between the two teams, but neither team was able to find the back of the net. The Trojans had the early shot advantage after 45 minutes, outshooting RMU 5-4.

With the score tied 0-0 after 45 minutes of play the second half saw much more action from both teams. After a foul in the box on the Trojans the Eagles look poised to take the lead early in the half, but Sophomore Gk Eddie Windsor made the diving save to keep things scoreless.

After a key stop from Windsor the Trojans were able to counter and take the lead after good work down the wing from Francesco de Felice set up Ramirez for the easy tap in finish.

RMU responded quickly, equalizing the game just 10 minutes later. Neither side was able to find the go ahead goal in the final 30 minutes, forcing Overtime.

In the opening Overtime period RMU out shot the Trojans, but TIU saw the majority of the opportunities on goal. After 10 scoreless minutes in the first OT, RMU quickly scored the game winner just a minute and a half in to the second overtime period.

The Trojans return home this Saturday to take on CCAC rival Olivet Nazarene University on Homecoming Weekend.
