Box Score DEERFIELD, Ill. - In what would be their final game of the 2017 season the TIU Men's Soccer team made sure to go out on top, defeating Calumet St. Joseph 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Trojans got off to a slow start at the beginning of the first half with the Crimson Wave holding the majority of the possession and peppering 8 shots after 45 minutes. Senior GK
Jared Yonke was up to the task , leading the Trojan defense and making 4 saves in the opening half.Â
After the halftime break the Trojans seemed to find their groove, moving and possesing the ball much better in the opening minutes of the half. After having a few chances on frame the Trojans finally found the back of the net when
Kyle McNamara tapped home the finish from inside the six yard box after a corner from
T.J. Cake fell to
Wesley Ditchfield, who fed McNamara for the goal.
After the Trojan goal CCSJ continued to pressure the Trinity defense, but the Trojans stood tall yet again, nullifying any scoring chances pushing them to their second consecutive victory.
The Trojans season will come to an end finishng 5-11-2 (3-6-2) after falling just short of qualifying for the CCAC Tournament.
