Trojans and Wolves finish in double-overtime draw

Box Score DEERFIELD, Ill. - Sophomore Goalie Eddie Windsor was stellar in net once again for TIU, as the Trojans (2-7-2, 0-2-2 CCAC) battled to a scoreless draw with Cardinal Stritch University (5-2-2, 3-0-1 CCAC) on Saturday afternoon.

Windsor has now posted back-to-back shutouts for the Trojans, after making 14 saves on Saturday, nullifying any scoring chance the Wolves had.

The first half saw a flurry of chances for either side, but it was Windsor who stood on his head for the Trojans, making back to back saves on the goal line in the opening five minutes.

The Trojans and Wolves would finish the opening half scoreless with both sides firing 5 total shots through 45 minutes.

The second half saw much of the same with neither side really getting any opportunities to break through. Cardinal Stritch peppered 14 total shots, nut Windsor stood tall yet again.

90 minutes was not enough for these two teams as Overtime soon followed. A late whistle in the second OT gave the Trojans a free kick in the box, but the T.J. Cake shot attempt was blocked in the final seconds. Both sides would earn a point in the CCAC standings after the scoreless draw.

Trojans look for their first CCAC win on Tuesday when they travel to Bridgeview to take on Roosevelt University.
