Trojan men's soccer shuts out Lincoln Christian, 13-0

The Trinity International University men's soccer team opened the 2019 season with bang in a 13-0 shutout win over the Lincoln Christian University Red Lions on Tuesday night in Lincoln, Illinois.

TIU started strong, scoring seven goals in the first half, led by Jorge Vasquez and Josiah Fox. Vasquez started the Trojans off in the fourth minute of the game, assisted by Xavier Brown. Fox notched a hat trick in the win, scoring his third goal of the night in the final minutes of the game. The Trojans had nine different players capitalized on goal. 

TIU dominated play with controlling the midfield and high pressure to deny Lincoln the opportunity to have any opportunities. The Trojans only allowed two shots with one on goal. The offense for the Trojans ended the match with 34 shots and 22 shots on goal. 

The Trojans host the Siena Heights University Saints (Mich.) at Schartner Field on Saturday, August 31.
