BANNOCKBURN, Ill. — The TIU softball program has two student-athletes who have been recognized as a scholar-athlete by both the NAIA and NCCAA as a result of their excellence in the classroom during the 2022-23 season.
The 2022-23 class of softball scholar-athletes are:
Throughout program history, softball has had five NAIA Scholar-Athletes since 2001 and eight NCCAA Scholar Athletes since 2020.
The NAIA requires student-athletes to have a 3.5 cumulative GPA, as well as have been at their respective institution for at least one academic year as a sophomore or above.
To receive the scholar-athlete title from the NCCAA, a student must have a 3.4 cumulative GPA, be an academic junior or above in the classroom and have attended their respective school for at least one academic year.
