Women's Soccer wins CCAC Tournament Championship

Box Score BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - A late Marta Sobey goal proved to be the difference Friday night, as Trinity International earned the 1-0 victory over 17th-ranked Olivet Nazarene to claim the 2015 CCAC Tournament championship. The No. 4 seed entering the conference tournament, Trinity (13-4-3) claimed their second tournament title in the past three seasons and will advance to the 2015 NAIA Women's Soccer Championship.

A scoreless match through the first 74 minutes, ONU goalkeeper Sarah Vrosh and Trinity freshman McKenzie Chappell saved a combined 15 shots on frame. Sobey broke through in the 75th minute, with Michele Streekstra earning the assist, to give her team the lead.

Following Sobey's game-winner, the Tigers (15-5-1) had two cracks at the equalizer, with one shot blocked by the Trojan defense, and the other saved by Chappell.

Trinity's win clinches a third straight trip to the NAIA Tournament, after three consecutive appearances in the CCAC Tournament Final, all in Bourbonnais against Olivet Nazarene. The Trojans earned the tournament title in 2013, after a scoreless draw and shootout win; the Tigers took the trophy last year with a 2-1 victory, in a match where both sides had already punched their ticket to the national tournament.

The Trojans will now wait until Monday to find out where they are headed for their NAIA Women's Soccer Opening Round match. The qualifying teams and bracket will be revealed during a live selection show at NAIANetwork.com, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
