BANNOCKBURN, Ill. --- The TIU women's soccer program has a long history of academic success and the tradition continues with the NAIA and NCCAA latest release for their Scholar-Athlete designations. Twelve women's soccer players qualified for one or both distinctions during the 2022 season.

The 2022 class of women's soccer scholar-athletes are:

• Sarah Davis (NAIA, NCCAA)
• Kinsey Gomez (NAIA, NCCAA)
• Cresencia Kerr (NAIA, NCCAA)
• Sydney Matthews (NAIA)
• Abigail Olsson (NAIA, NCCAA)
• Kalie Rice (NCCAA)
• Payton Siragusa (NAIA, NCCAA)
• Emily Soriaga (NAIA)
• Zoe Villont (NAIA, NCCAA)
• Micah Wassink (NCCAA)

Including these most recent honorees, the women's soccer program has had over 100 NAIA Scholar-Athletes since 1992 and over 60 NCCAA Scholar-Athletes since 2009.

The NAIA requires student-athletes to have a 3.5 cumulative GPA, as well as have been at their respective institution for at least one academic year as a sophomore or above.

To receive the scholar-athlete title from the NCCAA, a student must have a 3.4 cumulative GPA, be a junior or above in the classroom and have attended their respective school for at least one academic year.
