 • Trinity International hits the road this week, as the Trojans take on St. Xavier on Tuesday night for their first away match in conference play.

• The Trojans are averaging 0.43 goals per match this season, ranking 13th in the CCAC. St. Xavier is tied for 10th in the league, with 0.50 goals per match. Defensively, Trinity holds a goals-against average of 1.84, 7th-best in the CCAC, while St. Xavier ranks 8th, at 1.93.

Last Time Out

 • Despite holding the Robert Morris offense out of the back of the net for over an hour, an extra-time goal scored seven minutes into the first overtime gave the Eagles a 2-1 win over Trinity International on Saturday afternoon at Schartner Field.
 • Senior Brianna Bernholdt put the Trojans (1-6, 0-1 CCAC) in front early, scoring her seventh career goal in the 23rd minute and snapping a three-match scoring drought for Trinity.
 • In extra time, Trinity would earn a corner kick in the 94th minute, but it was Carrington who would put away the game-winner in the 97th minute, putting the Eagles on top.

Series History

 • The Trojans and Cougars have met every year since 2007, with Trinity holding a 7-5 edge in the series.
 • TIU have gone unbeaten in six straight matches with St. Xavier, including a penalty shootout win in the 2010 CCAC Tournament.
 • Over the past two seasons, Trinity has out-scored St. Xavier, 11-3.

In the Polls

 • Trinity earned 17 votes in the NAIA Preseason Coaches Poll, becoming one of nine programs to receive votes but fall short of the top 25.
 • The Trojans finished last season ranked No. 19 in the 2015 Postseason Poll, their highest-ever rank in the postseason rankings which debuted in 2012.
 • Trinity earned a national ranking in each of the past two Preseason Polls, starting last season at No. 17, and coming in at No. 25 in 2014.
 • TIU has earned a national rank at some point during each of the past four seasons, reaching as high as No. 17 in 2015.

Scouting the Opponents

St. Xavier

 • The Cougars have started the year with an 0-5-1 record, including a scoreless draw at Cornerstone (Mich.) two weeks ago.
 • As a team, St. Xavier ranks 16th in the NAIA, with 60 total saves. Senior goalkeeper Alex Perry is ranked 5th nationally, with 12.3 saves per match.
 • Christina Sperando leads the team with two goals scored on the year.

Hall of Fame

 • Head coach Patrick Gilliam was inducted into the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Hall of Fame, during the association's Hall of Fame Banquet as part of the NCCAA Annual Convention in June.
 • Gilliam was one of two inductees in the class of 2016, and the first representative from Trinity ever to be included into the NCCAA Hall of Fame.
 • With a career record of 290-124-21 (.691), Gilliam is currently the second-winningest active coach in the NAIA.

National Leaders

 • Junior goalkeeper Surina Lewandowski is tied for 4th in the CCAC and ranks 31st in the NAIA, with a total of 40 saves made this season. The Trojans rank 33rd nationally in total saves, with Lewandowski in goal for over 546 minutes this season.

Champions of Character

 • In 2015, Trinity International earned the Karl Boeck Conference Champions of Character Award for the fifth consecutive year. Entering this weekend, the Trojans have gone seven straight seasons without a single red card.
 • From 2014-2016, TIU has been charged with only three yellow cards over 48 matches, for the lowest per-match average in the CCAC.
