Box Score CHICAGO, Ill. - Three second half goals were the difference on Wednesday evening as the TIU Women's Soccer team earned their seventh straight victory, defeating St. Xavier University 4-1.
It was all Trojans in the first 20 minutes of the match, with TIU hitting the post twice as well as having a shot saved off the line. With the Trojans unable to convert on any of the early scoring opportunities it was the Cougars who jumped out to the early lead, when Abigail Peppin blasted a shot from 30 yards out for the goal.
From that moment on the resiliency of TIU was on full display as the Trojans marched right down the field and equalized off of the foot of
Makena Walker.
Jillian Kolster and
Heather Ortiz set up Walker on the finish to bring the Trojans right back into the match.
It was a dominant performance in the second half with the Trojans finding the back of the net three times. Kolster, Ortiz, and
Kylie Bowman each scored to seal the seventh consecutive victory for TIU.
The Trojans return to action on Saturday when they travel to Palos Heights to take on CCAC rival Trinity Christian at 12 pm.
