Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. - In a battle of two of the top teams in the CCAC the Trojans came up just short, falling 3-2 to Trinity Christian College on Saturday afternoon.
The Trojans jumped out to the early lead in the 1st half as
Jillian Kolster scored her first of two goals on the afternoon, connecting after a pass from
Victoria Padal.
It did not take long for the Trolls to answer, just five minutes later Drew McCarthy blasted a shot from well outside the box to even the match 1-1. The two teams would finished the firswt half deadlocked at a goal a piece.
The Trolls took their first lead of the game right off of the kickoff to begin the second half, as Jessica Bianchi drove down the field and found the back of the net just a minute in.
Kolster and the Trojans continued to fight late in the second half, as the Junior scored her CCAC leading 20th goals of the seaon to even the match in the 66th minute.
With just five minutes remaining in regulation it seemed as if the match were going to go to overtime, but McCarthy was able to put away a loose ball in the box for her second goal of the game to seal the win for the Trolls.
The Lady Trojans are back in action Tuesday when they travel to Arlington Heights to take on Robert Morris University at 6 pm.
