Trojans defeat Saints, win fifth straight

Box Score DEERFIELD, Ill. -  A penalty kick from Junior Rachel Conrady was the difference on Saturday as the TIU Women's Soccer team (10-3, 5-1 CCAC) won their fifth consecutive CCAC Conference game, defeating the University of St. Francis (6-5-2, 2-3-1 CCAC) 1-0.

It was another strong performance from the Lady Trojans, led by defenders Michele Streekstra and Conrady who allowed just five total shots, and two on goal for the entire game.

The goal from Conrady came in the eighth minute after a handball in the box and she calmly converted her second penalty kick opporunity of the season. The Junior now has three goals this year, with all three of them being game winners.

The goalkeeping duo of Surina Lewandowski and Rebecca Wells combined for the Trojans fourth shutout of the season.

Trinity International gets the coming week off but will be back in action next Saturday when Calumet St. Joseph comes to Deerfield. Kickoff against the Crimson Wave is set for 12 pm.
