Box Score DEERFIELD, Ill. - In a dominant performance from start to finish the TIU Women's Soccer team cruised to a 3-0 victory in the NCCAA North Central Regional Championship on Wednesday afternoon. With the win the Trojans have earned a berth in the 2017 NCCAA National Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida that will take place from November 27th - December 2nd.

Trinity International was on the front foot from the opening whistle on Wednesday, posting six shots in the first 10 minutes. Eagle GK Samantha Dewey made multiple key saves early to keep the Trojans off the scoreboard.

After a few more offensive opportunities for TIU including two corner kicks, the Trojans were finally able to find the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. Isabelle Danner connected on a long shot from outside of the box that sailed over the head of Dewey. Danner collected a pass from Victoria Padal, took one touch before firing the shot that broke the scoreless tie.

The Trojans continued to press offensively, but were unable to add a second goal before the half time whistle.

The second half saw the Trojans pick right back up where they left off in the first, pressuring the Eagle defense and getting multiple chances on frame. Trinity added eight more shots in the early going of the half before Freshman Shayne Busick would score her first career goal to make it 2-0 TIU in the 70th minute.

TIU would not let off the pedal for the remainder of the game as Busick gave the Trojans some breathing room in the 85th minute, scoring her second goal of the game to seal a 3-0 victory.
