Box Score KISSIMMEE, Fla.- The TIU Women's Soccer team won in come from behind fashion on Tuesday, defeating Emmanuel College 2-1 in the opening round of pool play in the NCCAA National Tournament.

The Trojans fell behind quickly to open their first match of the week, as Emmanuel took advantage of an errant Trojan pass and connected on a shot from distance to open the scoring. The Trojans quickly jumped on the front foot offensively after giving up the early goal, peppering five shots while adding three corners in the following ten minutes. 

Despite all of the opportunities and chances on goal the Trojans could not find an equalizer throughout the remainder of the opening half.

The Trojans came out of the gate quickly to open the second half, and their hard work offensively finally paid off. After a few chances in the early moments of the half Jillian Kolster found the back of the net after Kylie Bowman fed a ball inside the six yard box that Kolster tapped home to equalize the match.

Just a minute after the game tying goal from Kolster the Trojans struck again. It was Bowman who would give the Trojans the lead after the Senior drove the sideline and beat the Emmanuel keeper to the near post to put TIU on top.

The Trojans defense was strong through the final 40 minutes of the game, nullifying any Lion scoring chances. Sophomore GK Rebecca Wells made seven saves in the effort to help lead the Trojans to the victory.

Trinity International will now take on NCAA DII opponent Biola University tomorrow at 5 pm (CST) in their final match of pool play at the NCCAA Tournament.
