Women's Soccer earns come from behind win over Lourdes

Box Score DEERFIELD, Ill. - A handball in the penalty box late in the second half was the turning point for the Trojans as Rachel Conrady converted on the penalty kick, giving the Trojans a 2-1 lead and sealing their third victory of the season against Lourdes University on Friday afternoon.

The Trojans had no shortage of chances to put the match away, tallying 25 total shots, including 15 on goal throughout the 90 minutes. After Lourdes opened the scoring in the 50th minute, the Trojans bounced back quickly as Heather Ortiz notched her first goal of the season. Conrady eventually converted on the game winning penalty kick in the 75th minute, securing another TIU win.

The TIU defense was strong yet again, holding the Gray Wolves to just three shots on goal and nullifying multiple opportunities for Lourdes to tie the match. Led by Conrady and Senior Michele Streekstra, the two have anchored the back line for every minute of every game this season.

It will be a short turnaround for the team, as Trinity International is back in action tomorrow evening as they take on Madonna University at 5pm. on Schartner Field.
