Box Score ELGIN, Ill.- Strong defensive play and a late goal was the recipe for success for the TIU Women's Soccer team, as the Trojans (6-3, 1-1 CCAC) earned their first conference victory of the season defeating Judson University (0-8, 0-2 CCAC) 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Rachel Conrady delivered the game winner for the Trojans, capitalizing on a loose ball in the box after a corner kick from
Isabelle Danner. It was Conrady's second goal of the season, and her second game winning goal of the 2017 campaign.
The Trojans came out of the gate quickly to start the game, putting two shots on goal earning three corner kicks in the opening 10 minutes. Trinity International had their opportunites but the Eagles were up to the task, nullifying any scoring chance from TIU.
The second half saw much of the same with TIU putting multiple shots on frame but could not find the net. Finally in the 85th minute Conrady found the back of the net to seal the first conference win for the Trojans.
Senior
Surina Lewandowski earned the shutout for Trinity International in her second start of the year.
The Trojans are back in action next Tuesday when they travel to South Bend Indiana for a CCACÂ matchup against Holy Cross.
