ELMHURST, Ill. -- The Trinity International kicked off the 2018 season at the Elmhurst College Early Bird Invitational at Eldridge Park on August 31, 2018.
The men's team conquered the 6K course with
Chase Manke leading the charge with a finishing time of 21:19.1. Following Chase was
Jared Backstrom and
Nathaniel Johnson with an identical time of 23:43.7. The fourth and fifth Trojan was
Justin Chu and
Joshua Drury posting a time of 24:08.3 and 30:43.9. Overall, the men's team performed very well, finishing 6 out of 8 colligate teams.
For the women's team,
Lauren Neveau and
Tenley Bozzi had their first collegiate cross country debut. Lauren placed 24th with a finishing time of 17:06.9. Following behind was
Shayla Sotelo and
Tenley Bozzi with a finishing time of 18:32.2 and 18:36.9. Senior Jennifer Olayo had a strong finishing time of 19:24.6. Collectively, the TIU
women challenged each other throughout the entire race.
The Trojans will be back in action on September 15th, at the Gil Dodds Invitational in Warrenville, IL.
