Box Score LINCOLN, Ill. --- The Trinity International University women's soccer team opened the 2019 season on the road in Lincoln, Illinois to face the Lincoln Christian University Red Lions.
TIU bolted out of the gates with a very strong first half, scoring 11 goals in the first 45 minutes of play. Lauren Henn got the momentum started for the Trojans early recording a hat trick within the first five minutes of the game. Shayne Busick also notched three goals, while sophomore Madison Martinez created many opportunities assisting on five goals on the night.
The Trojans dominated play with power and possession in the midfield, and a strong attacking threat from the wing play. TIU ended the match with 35 shots and 21 shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper Rebecca Wells kept a clean sheet with the help of her defense without a shot taken by the Red Lions. The Trojans finished the night off adding another 3 goals to their lead for an ending score of 14-0.
The Trojans host the Siena Heights University Saints at Schartner Field on Saturday, August 31 at noon.
