Henn earns NCCAA All-American honors; Eight named scholar-athletes

GREENVILLE, S.C. --- The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced it's season award for the 2020-21 women's soccer season on Tuesday, with nine different Trojans earning an honor. The headlining selection was that of senior midfielder Lauren Henn, who was named a member of the NCCAA's All-American third-team.

A native of Sahuarita, Arizona, Henn is the 54th overall All-American selection in program history, and 44th NCCAA All-American selection. Lauren led TIU with seven goals and six assists, as well as points, shots and shots on goal during the COVID-19 shortened and rescheduled 2020-21 season.

Henn set team history on March 30 against IU-Northwest as she became the first Trojan to record four assists in a game. The feat also set a single-game record for assists in a non-conference match, and tied school records for single-game assists in a match and in a win. Lauren was also named to the NCCAA All-North Central region team this season, as well as the NCCAA's Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week on March 22 and 29.

In addition to Henn's All-American selection eight other Trojans earned a national honor from the NCCAA as Scholar athletes. To earn NCCAA Scholar Athlete honors, athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student of academic standing, must have completed at least one term at their respective school, must be a varsity athlete, and must maintain at least a 3.40 grade point average (GPA). Shane Busick, Sarah Davis, Grace Elliott, Chloe Kostos, Raquel Lane, Madison Martinez, Micah Wassink, and Rachael Woods all earn this honor, the largest single class of TIU women's soccer players to be selected.
